Project Title: Color Filling-in
Color filling-in effect, a phenomenon in which a field is filled with a neighboring color under steady fixation. Filling-in is thought to be an essential process for surface completion and it has been proposed to be a mechanism for achieving unified percepts for large stimuli. Color filling-in is a dynamic process that has multiple modes with changing percepts over time even with the same stimulus. Further, the filling-in modes will depend on color differences, the spatial arrangement of the colors, and the involved visual pathways (PC or KC). The goal is to understand the neural mechanisms integrating central and peripheral colors and affecting color filling-in modes. See .
